Human / Machine Study 001: The Shape of What Comes Next

The study

An exploration of cinematic digital art direction, combining editorial composition, restrained interface design and motion into a high-impact web hero.

What we were testing

  • Typography hierarchy
  • Cinematic imagery
  • Motion pacing
  • Editorial composition
  • Responsive behavior
  • Interaction design
  • Creative coding

Creative direction

An open, quiet composition lets the silhouette carry the atmosphere. Expanded typography establishes the hierarchy, while a single red accent marks the turning point. The image changes beneath your hand: human and machine occupy the same space, revealed through movement. Carefully paced entrances give each detail room to arrive.
