Vertical Labs is an AI systems studio in Austin. We design and build production websites, software, automation, dashboards, agent workflows, and AI enablement programs for teams with complex operations. The work is led by senior product, engineering, and design practitioners, with automation used to increase speed without removing accountable human review.

Accountable people behind the systems.
Matt Gunnin leads product strategy and engineering. His background includes founding and operating technology companies, building real-time products, and leading AI-agent work before forming Vertical Labs. Raquel Ortega leads product design and experience, translating complicated workflows into interfaces that teams can understand and use.
The studio is intentionally small. Clients work with the people making product and technical decisions. When specialist capacity is required, it is added around a clear owner, written acceptance criteria, and visible verification. Vertical Labs does not present prototypes as production systems or automated output as independent evidence.
